David "Donnie" Henson

David “Donnie” Henson, 76 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Donnie was retired from Shawnee Transit and attended Immanuel Baptist Church.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 7 years, Glenda Henson; daughters, Leia Henson and Christina Pheifer; one granddaughter; three sisters, Margaret Baker, Earlene Hertter (Bob), and Mary Hudson; brother, Raymond “Gene” Henson; several nieces and nephews; their dog, Uggie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Evelyn (Adams) Henson; four brothers, Lowell “Popeye” Henson, Kenneth Henson, Gerald Henson and Wayne Henson.
