David "Dave" Barrett

David “Dave” Barrett, 62 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025 at his residence.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12 noon on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Dave was a Christian, enjoyed carpentry work and was an avid Chicago sports fan.

Dave is survived by his wife of 14 years, Gay Barrett; son, Jon Ryan Barrett; stepchildren, Michelle Cummings, Kelly Allen (Charles), Matthew Greer (Ashtyn), and Casey Jordan; grandchildren, Jaylen, Kaleb, Akira, Aden, Aubrey, Miles, Joshua, Kierstin, Parker, Andy, and Maci; great grandson, Kendrick; brothers, William “Hippie” Cummins and wife Patty, Stoney Barrett, Jesse Barrett, Rocky Barrett; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Barrett, Matthew Barrett, Amanda Barrett, Nikki Barrett, and Justin Barrett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Norris and Lillian Ruth (Cummins) Barrett and one brother, Tim Barrett.

Memorial contributions may be given in Dave’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
