David "Bean" Phillips

David “Bean” Phillips, 73 of Brookport, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with Charlie Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Brookport, IL.

David was a nurse for Baptist Health Paducah for 25 years before his retirement in 2012 and a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Metropolis Country Club. David was an avid Cardinals fan who didn’t miss a game and loved music. What he enjoyed most though, was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

David is survived by his daughter, Toni Mayo; “adopted” daughter, Caydi Mescher; grandchildren, Ali Wiley, Tristen Hoxworth, and Cory Kindred; great grandchildren, Alex Wolfe, Adler Shew, and Aubree Wiley; sister, Carol Neely; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Dorothy (Adams) Phillips; daughter, Rhonda Kindred; son-in-law, Josh Mayo; and brother, Gene Phillips.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27th at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home.
