Dale B Obermark

Dale B. Obermark, age 86, of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 5:30 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at the Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Masonic rites will be held at 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at St. Stephens Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Emmerson  and Jeff Trovillion officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.

Dale was retired from Obermark Construction. He was a life-long member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Dale was a Massac County Commissioner for 22 years and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Dale is survived by his wife of 46 years, Florence (Quint) Obermark; sons, Eric Obermark and Kevin Obermark and wife Carrie; grandchildren, Kaylee Territo and husband Nick, Kassie Little, Clayton Obermark, and Kurtis Obermark and wife Summer; great grandchildren, Emmie, Hunter, and Walker; brother, Paul Obermark and wife Cindy; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Esther (Horstman) Obermark; sister, Lula Grimes; brothers, Donald and Jesse Obermark; and brothers-in-law, Gussie and Ervin Quint.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10th from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the church.

The family would like to say a special thank-you to the staff of Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lourdes Hospice, and Loftus-McManus Funeral Home for the wonderful care they provided.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Obermark, Kurtis Obermark, Glenn Grimes, Doug Hunerkoch, Randy Hunerkoch and Kent Bowman.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don McIntosh, Phillip Hunerkoch, Marshall Hunerkoch, Greg Hunerkoch, Nick Territo, Drew Deckard, Daniel Deckard, and Khairallah “KG” Ghazal.
