Constance Yates Obituary
Mrs. Constance "Connie" Yates, age 77, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis. Burial will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mrs. Yates worked as an RN for Massac Memorial Hospital and the Shawnee Correctional Center. After retiring from nursing, she worked at the Metropolis Public Library.
Connie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jack Yates of Metropolis; five children, Jack Yates II and wife Heather, Monte Mescher, Mark Mescher and wife Terri, Mike Mescher and partner Rick, and Mindy Alexander and partner Beth; one stepdaughter, Connie Smith; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Mescher, Debbie Calvert, Brandi Nadler, Blaine Mescher, Ashley Weilbacher, Gabrielle Mescher and Madyson Mescher; several great grandchildren; one sister, Roberta Edwards and husband Dan; one brother, Curt Giles and wife Linda; sisters-in-law, Martha Giles and Sharon Lang; brother-in-law, Jim Yates.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Hazel (Weir) Giles; one brother, Terry Giles.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21st, from 11 am until the funeral at 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Metropolis Public Library in memory of Connie Yates.
