Connie Sumner

Connie Sumner, age 77 of rural Golconda, Illinois formerly of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 6:34 am on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at her residence.

Per her wishes there will not be any services.

Connie is survived by her daughters, Marietta Sloan and husband Ken, Wanda Dukes and husband David, and Allison Sauerhage and husband Robert; 11 grandchildren, Tripp Gibson, Amber Green, Kylie Peery, Andrew Gibson, Ryan Dukes, Travis Dukes, Rebecca Sauerhage, Lucas Sauerhage, Seth Sauerhage, Hannah Sauerhage, and Isaac Sauerhage; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Trina Riddle and husband Joe, and Peggy Johnston; brother, Jim Thompson and wife Nelda; several nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Doris (Etheridge) Thompson; husband, Randy Sumner; sister, Kay Lawler; brothers, Bob Thompson and Alvin Thompson.
