Billy Bradford

Billy Bradford, age 71 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 11:53 pm on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Broadway Church of Christ in Metropolis. Burial will follow in Silver Crown Masonic Cemetery.

Billy was a retired coal miner and chemical operator, a member of Broadway Church of Christ and loved to fish and hunt.

Billy is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lora (Sobat) Bradford; children, Misty Bradford Robinson and husband Luther, Matthew Bradford (Valerie) and Adam Webb and wife Vicki; grandchildren, Cheyenne Johnson, Ashton Johnson, Deracias Carter, Lilli Mae Robinson, Nathan Hooks, Kaylynn Hooks, Jamie McDonald, Trevion Bradford, Gabriel Bradford, Malakai Bradford, Kylah Bradford, Messiah Bradford, Khaleesia Bradford, Cason Chrisman, and Kamron Shannon; great grandchildren, Naomi Brown, Carter Brown, Khylani Hooks, Harper Hooks, Mia Hooks and Emery Hooks; sister, Andrea Talley; brother, Gregory Bradford; several nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Hilda (Murrell) Bradford; daughter, Shanna Kay Hooks; brothers, Loren “Butch” Bradford and Larry “Deanie” Bradford; and grandson, Deracias Carter aka “Tank”.

Visitation will be held on Friday evening, January 2, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to City National Bank, with Lora Bradford in the memo to help assist the family.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Bradford, Misty Robinson, Cason Chrisman, Lydell Bradford, Nathan Hooks, and Alex Bradford.
