Mr. Wyman Leslie O'Brien, age 58, of Brookport, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his home.Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel with Scott Darnell officiating. Masonic Rites will follow.Mr. O'Brien, born April 26, 1956, was of the Christian faith. He was a 1974 graduate of Brookport High School and was employed by the city of Brookport as a water supervisor for 31 years. Wyman was a 26 year Mason of Bay City Lodge 771, formerly Farmers Lodge 232 where he was a 4-time Post Master. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a lover of NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals. Wyman lived his life to the fullest and will be missed by all.Wyman is survived by his mother, Kay Hurst of Brookport; sister, Jimmilynn Travis and husband Jim of Metropolis; 2 nephews, Cory Calhoun of Marshall Co., KY and Levi Travis of Lone Oak, KY; 3 aunts, Carolyn Worthington of Lone Oak, KY, Joyce Brayant of Pekin, IL, and Mary Russell of Long Beach, CA; 1 great aunt, Alma Lou Souders of Brookport; companion, Rita McCoy of Metropolis; her grandson and granddaughter who Wyman thought of as his own children, Westley McCoy and Heidi Schierbaum and husband Daniel, and her great-grandchildren, Alex and Evelyn of Metropolis; many cousins, and close friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Hurst.Friends may call to the Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, May 23.Online condolences may be left at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com.
