William C. Thomas age 82 of Metropolis, Il passed away at his home on Friday, July 4, 2014.Graveside services will be Tuesday July 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the I.O.O.F. in Metropolis, IL with Bro. Arron Crenshaw officiating.He is survived by his wife Flora of 58 years,One son Gregory Todd Thomas of Metropolis, IL; One sister Clara botarf of West Vienna, IL; and Virgil Thomas of Metropolis, IL; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, William G. and Magnolia (Dassing) Thomas, his daughter, Angela Thomas, 4 sisters, Hazel Thomas, Beatrice Thomas, Evelyn Graves and Helen Meyers.He was a member of Eastland Baptist church and was a veteran of the Armed Forces. He was a member of the American legion and Labor Local 1370.There will be no visitation, friends are asked to directly to cemetery.Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
