Mr. William Joe "Squirt" Cagle, age 87, of Paducah, KY, formerly of Metropolis, IL, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Miller-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Jim Faughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites. Mr. Cagle was a 1948 graduate from Metropolis Community High School and served the United States in the Korean War as a Marine from February 1951 to February 1954. He married Mary Bette on June 3, 1953. Squirt retired from EEI and was a member of Central Church of Christ in Paducah, KY. Squirt is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Bette (Ferguson) Cagle of Paducah; one daughter, Pamela Cagle of Paducah; two sisters, Mary Horman Bremer and Nadine Abell both of Metropolis; several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Joel and Mozelle (Laughlin) Cagle; two sisters, Alice Betty Compton and Helen Mae Parr; one brother Jackie Ray Cagle. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the funeral hour at 2pm on Tuesday, January 2nd at the Miller-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
