William Ray "Billy" Powell, age 68, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at his residence.Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kirkendall Cemetery in Massac County, IL, with Rev. Mike Shank officiating.Billy is survived by his 2 daughters, Terri Abernathy and husband Jonathan and Misty Powell both of Metropolis; 2 sons, Billy Powell and Michael Powell both of Metropolis; 6 grandchildren, Allison Powell of Minnesota, Kassy Horstman of Metropolis, Melaina Powell of Harrisburg, IL, Katelyn Yates, Whitney Powell and Jamia Powell all of Metropolis; 1 sister, Frances Holder of Metropolis; 2 brothers, Ralph Powell and wife Margaret of Metropolis and Jonny Powell and wife Pat of Vienna, IL; 1 half-sister, Margie Walton of Paducah, KY; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Daisy (Davis) Powell; wife, Jody Powell; 4 brothers, Donald Powell, Jerry Powell, Omer Powell, and Marshall "Shorty" Powell.There will be no visitation.
