Mr. William Lloyd Donaldson, age 88, of Metropolis, IL, died on August 28, 2017 at Massac Memorial Hospital. There will be no services at this time. Mr. Donaldson was born April 19, 1929 and graduated with the class of 1948 at Herrin High School. He married Alice Marie Carney on November 3, 1950 in Piggott, AR. He was a retired Superintendent of Coal Handling Operations at EEI, an Army veteran who served as Military Police in Germany, enjoyed hunting, was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and an experienced flyer who loved building and flying model airplanes. William is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice Donaldson; children, Debbie Lynch and husband Butch, Donna Donaldson, Amber Turner and husband Ben, William B. Donaldson and wife Sabrina, and Steven Donaldson and wife Angie; grandchildren, Aaron Wells, Lawrence "Bit" Lynch, Chris Moore, Sherry Moore, Dominique Mounce, Charles Lanford, William Tristan Donaldson, and Zach Donaldson; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Rex Donaldson and wife Ruth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe B. and Mary Ora (Deweese) Donaldson; siblings, Agatha Murphey, Clarence Donaldson, Juanita Roberts, and Monell Cunningham.
