Wendell Riepe, age 99, of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side.Funeral services will be at 1 pm on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Robin Mizell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ Cemetery.Wendell, a lifelong resident of Massac County was married for seventy six years to Ruth (Dieckman) who passed away on June 21, 2013.Wendell is survived by two sons, Clyde Riepe and wife Mary Kay of Bandana, KY, Jerry Riepe of Schiller Park, IL; two daughters, Sue Skrine and husband Everett of Cicero, IL, Darla Rivas and husband Luis of Traverse City, MI; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorisie Riepe of Metropolis, IL; several nieces and nephews.Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Katye (Rottmann) Riepe; three brothers, Lawrence, Kenneth, and Gerald; two sisters, Fern Riepe and Lelia Henderson; two infant children, Bobby Gene and Janet Kay.Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 11 am until the funeral hour at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.Pallbearers will be Michael Riepe, Hayden Farmer, Todd Adams, Chris Rivas, Tony Rivas, and Duane Goins.Music will be provided by Logan Libby and Veda Henson.Online condolences may be left at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com
