Wanda Virginia Pollard, age 90 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 12:12 pm on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Jim Faughn, Robin Mizell, and Robert Guinn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Wanda was a faithful member of the Park Street Church of Christ in Metropolis, an avid quilter, gardener, and bowler, belonging to the Women's International Bowling Congress. Wanda is survived by her son, Harry "Hank" Pollard and wife Tanya; 3 granddaughters, Jennifer Larrison and husband Rob, Jessica Lewis and husband Chad, Kelsey Pollard; 6 great grandchildren, Olivia, Alex, Aiden, and Wyatt Larrison, Hudson and Holden Lewis; sister, Mary Duncan; brothers, David Mizell and wife Marie, Jack Mizell and wife Imogene all of Metropolis, IL; brother-in-law, Bob Pollard of St. Louis, MO; several nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Virginia (Robertson) Mizell; husband of 69 years, Urbie Pollard; son, Bruce Pollard; sisters, Alice Pollard and husband Bill, Patricia Ann Collier and husband Ruble. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Pallbearers will be Matt Duncan, Mark Collier, Mike Duncan, Darryl Corn, Rex Eggleton, David Mizell, Mike Medley, and Dave Mizell.
