Mr. Wallace O. Wolfe, age 83, of Metropolis, IL, was born on July 4, 1930 in Richmond, VA, and passed away at on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home Rev. Mike Duncan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Wally worked as a grocery salesman for 45 years before retiring. Over the years, he enjoyed the outdoors and especially his time spent camping. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Metropolis, where he ran the chair lift for those who needed the assistance.Wally is survived by his wife of 61 years, Millie (Wiseman) Wolfe of Metropolis; son, Steve Wolfe and wife Gayla of Hillerman; daughter, Patti Gregory and husband Donny of Metropolis; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Talmadge Wolfe and wife Shirley of Reevesville; several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge and Alpha Wolfe; one brother, Wayne Wolfe; one great-grandson, Lane Wolfe.Visitation will be held on Sunday evening, July 21, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home.
