Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" Lynn Turner, age 57, of Metropolis, IL, formerly of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015 peacefully at home after fighting the good fight for serval years.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Rev. Galen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Virginia was born on October 16, 1957 in DuQuoin, IL, to William and Charlene (Neville) Brooks. She married Gary W. Turner on June 18, 1994. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Shianne Rose.Ginny had a great love for life, family, and friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Cayleb. Through the years, she thoroughly enjoyed working in the music ministry of her church, creating and directing several programs for the youth, making sure every child had a part.She is survived by her husband; daughter, Jamie Turner and grandson Cayleb of DuQuoin; her parents of DuQuoin; mother-in-law, Naomi Turner of Metropolis, formerly of Marion, IL; 3 siblings, Karen Downs and husband Mike of Auburn, IL, Thomas Brooks and wife Joyce of Chatham, IL, and Phillip Brooks and wife Carolyn of Pinckneyville, IL.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.Online condolences may be left at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com.
