Virginia Joan Hollis, age 70 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Lunsford officiating.

Virginia had formerly worked at USEC and currently worked for Boston Government Services. She was of the Catholic faith, an avid gardener, and loved her hermit crabs.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Robert Hollis and wife Tina and Edward Hollis and wife Rebecca; grandchildren, Tyler Hollis, Katie Hollis, Emma Hollis, and Claire Hollis; faithful canine companion, Lucy; brothers, Robert J. Hoffer and Michael J. Hoffer; several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Cecilia (Cvetic) Hoffer and her sister, Lois Anthony.
