Mrs. Violet E. Davidson, age 81, of Metropolis, IL, passed away June 7, 2017 at Promise Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Violet was born October 17, 1935 in Pulaski County, IL to Albert and Dorothy Sheffer. Funeral services will be held on at 12 noon on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis with Pastor Mindy Farren officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Davidson was a member of Powers United Methodist Church and loved to play games. Violet is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Czarnecki and husband John; son, Mark Davidson; grandchildren, William Davidson and wife Shilo, Shawn Czarnecki, Jennifer Dowbroksi and husband Karl, and Karen Toledavo and husband Reagan; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Davidson, sons, Scott Davidson and William Davidson Jr.; her sisters, Gladis Stewart and Phyllis Lingle; brothers, Albert Sheffer and Raymond Sheffer. Visitation will be held from 10am until the funeral hour at noon on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Miller Funeral Home.
