Vida Mae Maess, age 93 of Brookport, IL passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.  She was born June 4, 1925 to Jeff and Lura (Lawrence) Kickasola.

Funeral service will be held on Monday November 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. David LeNeave and Rev. Doug Hughes officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Vida Mae was married to and survived by Reuben Maess, they were married on March 10, 1945 and were married for 73 years; one daughter, Debbie Barger and husband Charles of Brookport, IL and one granddaughter, Jaime Nobis and husband Ryan of Fountain, CO; two great grandsons, John and Luke Nobis; two step grandchildren, Charlie and Staci Barger of Metropolis, and Jason Barger of San Gabriel, CA; three step great grandchildren, Lucas, Tyler, and Avy Barger.

Vida Mae was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Jason Giltner, one sister Evelyn Quint and one brother, L.T. Kickasola.

Vida Mae was a homemaker and loved to cook, crochet, and work in her flower gardens. She always helped other people in their time of need, she was a member of the Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be given to Mt. Sterling Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1780 Mt. Sterling Road, Brookport, IL 62910.

Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the funeral Hour at 11 a.m., on Monday, November 5, 2018.

Pallbearers will be Lee Pegram, Kent Bowman, Tim Bellamey, Alex Bellamey, Jasson Reichert, and Sean Pegram. Honorary Pallbearers will be  Josh Bowman, Colton McNichols, Nathan McNichols, Shane Pegram, Lane Pegram,  Jacob Pegram, Larry "Skip" Reichert, and Cleason Sturgil.
