Travis Stamme, 37, of Brookport, IL, passed away in the early morning hours of August 8th while driving his ATV. Travis was born in Paducah, KY, on May 12th, 1984. He was the second of three children of Greg Stamme and Bonnie Grace.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 12th, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Metropolis with Father Michael Mujule officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Travis graduated from Massac County High School in 2003. After graduation, Travis spent his time helping on the family farm and working as a diesel mechanic at Mack Truck in Paducah, Ky. He eventually joined the Union Millwright Local 1076 out of Paducah, Ky, working his way to foreman over 17 years. Travis was also a Master Mason, belonging to the Master Masonic Bay City Lodge 771.

Travis enjoyed anything outdoors. You would most likely find him riding his Razer UTV or sharing stories around a bonfire. He also enjoyed hunting with his Grandpa John as a child, sometimes walking for hours by his side through the woods.

Travis was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ruth Stamme, and his maternal grandparents, John and Alice Benard.

He left behind is father, Gregory Stamme and wife Kathy; mother, Bonnie Grace and husband Rick and girlfriend, Tina. He has two sisters, Amy Rojas and husband Juan, and Katie Stamme; his paternal grandfather Eugene Stamme; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and step-siblings. His love and generosity will be greatly missed by many.

A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday night, August 11th, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with masonic rites held at 7:00 p.m.
