Mr. Tom E. LaVeau, age 87, of Metropolis, IL, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Tom was born on April 17, 1926 to Louis F. and Florence (Baker) LaVeau, who preceded him in death.Graveside and burial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tom Emmerson will officiate.Tom worked his families plumbing business and was a member of the Plumbers-Pipe Fitters Local 160. He was a past alderman for the City of Metropolis for several years.Tom is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John and Janet LaVeau of Metropolis; 2 grandchildren, Macy and Hayden Laveau; his sister-in-law, Mary LaVeau; 1 nephew, Greg LaVeau.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Bess (Isoline) Leaveau; and brother, Louis LaVeau.Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home Friday, October 18 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 a.m.Memorials may be given to the charity of choice.Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
