Mr. Steve Johnson, 66, of Metropolis, IL, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Living Waters Full Gospel Church in Joppa, IL with Rev. Shane Baker officiating. Burial will follow in IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis. Mr. Johnson was a member of Living Waters Full Gospel Church and employed at Harrah's Metropolis. Steve leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Teresa Johnson of Metropolis; five children, Heather Long and husband Phil of Ramsey, IL, Judy Zaragossa and husband Ronald Jr. of Metropolis, James Sumnlers Jr. of Mayfield, KY, John Sumnlers and wife Jennifer of Metropolis, and Elizabeth Brown and husband Jerid of Metropolis; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Katie, Logan, Hannah, Emily, Lydia, and Ashlynn; one great granddaughter, Paislee; two brothers, Edward Allen Johnson and Bobby Butterfield both of Metropolis; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lawanda Mae (Sanders) Johnson; grandmother, Iva Sanders; and two brothers, Paul Homberg and Mack Butterfield. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11am until the funeral at 1pm at the Living Waters Full Gospel Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
