Stephen R. Woods, 80, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Lone Oak Church of Christ with Paul Wingfield and Jamey Boone officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen L. Woods; his son, Dr. Dustin R. Woods of Paducah; his daughter, Natalie Brenningmeyer (Jake) of Paducah; his two precious grandchildren, Jack and Jenna Brenningmeyer; one sister-in-law, Beth Shelton (Galen); his niece, Emily Forthman; his nephew, Cody Shelton (Katie).

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Woods and Ernestine Woods Hastings; his step father, Bill Hastings; and his brother, Doug Woods.

Steve worked for the State of Kentucky as a Quality Control Analyst for 35 years. He also refereed basketball games for 25 years. He is a deacon at the Lone Oak Church of Christ where he served as their Treasurer for many years.

He was a college graduate from Paducah Community College and Murray State University.

After graduating from college, he was a proud Vietnam Army Veteran where he was taught the Vietnamese language to use as part of his duties in the Army.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Lone Oak Church of Christ.
