Obituary
Sorrita Alsip, age 82 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away on Monday evening October 2, 2023 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Sorrita was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Metropolis.
Sorrita is survived by her sons, Jeremy Alsip and Jeffrey Alsip; 3 granddaughters, Sarah Bryant (Jeff), Jenica Alsip, and Morgan Alsip; great granddaughter, Rebecca Drake and numerous other great grandchildren.
Sorrita was preceded in death by her father, Walton Wilkey; mother, Delilah I. "Lolly" (Allen) Winn; step father, John E. Winn; husband, Herbert Alsip.
Memorials may be made in Sorrita's name to Weekend Blessings, c/o First United Methodist Church, 100 East 5th Street, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
