Scarlett J. (Lang) Burgett, age 51 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 2:40 am on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center. There will not be any funeral services. Scarlett was a veterinarian assistant at Beagle's Bay Animal Hospital in Metropolis. Scarlett is survived by a son, James Burgett and wife Claire of Metropolis; mother, Marge Lowry of Metropolis; spouse, Kathy Eickholz of Metropolis; granddaughter, Makenzie Burgett of Metropolis; sister, Sherry Owens of Metropolis; ½ sister, Kelly Lang of Metropolis; ½ brother, Kevin Lang of New London, MO; nephew, Lee Hensley of Rosebud, IL; niece, Shelly Balliet and husband Kyle of Metropolis. Scarlett was preceded in death by her father, Willard Lang; step mother, Mary Lou Lang; grandparents, Curt and Jenny Lang, Lee and Myrtle Clardy; sister, Marlana Lang Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
