October 28, 1941 – September 7, 2025
Sandra Sue (James) Sundmacker of Rosebud, Illinois was born October 28, 1941. She went on to her reward in Heaven on September 7, 2025. She was 83 years old.
Sandra was a life long active member of Antioch Baptist Church in Rosebud, IL where she served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in many ways. She has taught Sunday School, worked in Vacation Bible School, served as church secretary, sang in the choir, and generally supported the work of the church in every aspect of her life. Sandra loved her church family. The two things that Sandra is known for the most is, telling everyone she met about her Jesus and for being such a powerful prayer warrior.
Sandra was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Sundmacker; her parents, William "Pete" and Eva James; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard "Dickie" and Sharon James; and an infant brother, Ricky James.
She is survived by her son, Brian Sundmacker of Rosebud; her daughter, Chandra Burklow (Keith), of Metropolis, IL; granddaughters, Amanda Alston (Chris) and Mallory Lang (Bill) of Metropolis; and great-grandsons, Xander Burklow, Christopher Alston, and Andrew Lang all of Metropolis; niece, Carol Wood (Rodney) of Rosebud; great nephew, Craig Wood (Michelle); and other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Antioch Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 11, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home in Metropolis and on Friday, September 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Sandra's prayer was for everyone to remember Jesus, His words and His ways.
