Ruth Riepe, age 95, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013, at her residence with her family by her side.Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home with Linwood Mathis and Robin Mizell officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. Ruth was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ for 75 years, an avid quilter, homemaker and devoted Christian. She was a role model for all of her children, family, and friends.Ruth is survived by her husband of 76 years, Wendell Riepe; 2 sons, Clyde Riepe and wife Mary Kay of Bandana, KY, and Jerry Riepe of Schiller Park, IL; 2 daughters, Sue Skrine and husband Everett of Cicero, IL, and Darla Rivas and husband Luis of Traverse City, MI; 1 grandson which she and Wendell raised, Todd Adams and wife Melanie of Braidwood, IL; 1 special nephew, Duane Goins and wife Karen of Chicago, IL; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Belle (Averitt) Dieckman; 4 brothers, Lavern, Ernest, George, and James Dieckman; 2 sisters, Vanda Goins and Leonna Jones; 2 infant children, Bobby Jean and Janet Kay Riepe.Visitation will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.Pallbearersa
