Mr. Roy "Buddy" Kennedy Jr., age 75 of Brookport, IL passed away at 7:32 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at his residence.Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Aikins Farmer Brookport Funeral Chapel. Rev. Larry Call will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pell Cemetery. Roy was born in Mayfield, KY on May 30, 1937 and graduated from Mayfield High School. He worked at REA Express, was a mechanic, and the Brookport Fire Chief for many years before retirement. He was a member of Seven Mile Baptist Church. Roy is survived by his wife, Hedy (Sweeney) Kennedy of Brookport, IL; daughter Evelyn F. (Mickey) Crowe of Unionville, IL; grandchildren Jana and Cabron Crowe; son-in-law Terry Kindred of Paducah, KY; grandson, Cory Kindred of Paducah, KY.He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Rhonda (Phillips) Kindred.Friends may call to the Aikins Farmer Brookport Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 31, from 11 am until the funeral hour.
