Rosemary Ellen Lewis-Compton, 72 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at her home with her loving husband by her side.

Per her request, Rosemary will be cremated. Services will be held at a later date.

Rosemary was born the only child to Rodger and Mary Dicks on June 22, 1952 in Chicago, IL. She was of Lutheran faith, a CNA and drove a tow truck. Her career though was with Dominic's Grocer for 33 years until her retirement. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed camping and the outdoors, animals, and taking drives. She was a generous and charitable woman who gave to many organizations such as St. Jude's and Wounded Warrior Project throughout the years.

Rosemary is survived by her husband and soulmate of 17 years, James Compton; daughter Beverly S. Gardine and husband John; granddaughter, Rebecka Biegalski and husband Mark; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one granddaughter, Samantha Gardine.
