Ms. Rosalie Ashby, age 83, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Baptist Health of Paducah.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home. Rev. David Deem will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.Ms. Ashby was a member of the First Baptist Church in Metropolis.Rosalie is survived by 3 sons, David Ashby, Richard Ashby and Douglas Ashby all of Metropolis; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Wetherington of Hillerman and Lillian Parker of Metropolis; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh and Lena (Lynn) Finney; husband, Richard Ashby Sr.; daughter, Rita Finke; 1 son, Richard Thomas Ashby Jr.Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday, July 23, at the Aikins Farmer Funeral Home.
