Mr. Roger D. Buchanan age 59 of Decatur IL, formerly of Moweaqua IL, passed away at 3:43 PM in his home on Monday, November 17th, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 22nd, 2014 at the Brookport Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Wayne Brinker officiating. Roger will be laid to rest in the Pell Cemetery following the funeral service. Roger was born on May 20th, 1955 at Anna Illinois . He was the son of Clyde Buchanan Jr. and Myra Loraine Faughn Buchanan, their firstborn of five children. Roger graduated from Moweaqua High School in 1973 a member of the National Honor Society. Following in his fathers' footsteps, he joined the International Brotherhood of Ironworkers Local #46 of which he was a member for 40 years. He was known by those of us who loved him as generous and gracious to a fault. He will be dearly missed. Roger is survived by his mother, Myra Loraine Buchanan of Moweaqua, IL; brothers, Brian Buchanan and wife Jan of Bethany, IL and Eric Buchanan of Moweaqua, IL ; sister, Teresa Kaufman of rural Decatur, IL, former brother-in-law Dan Kaufman of Springfield, IL, lifelong friend Martha Alameddine ; niece and nephews Myra and Jesse Kaufman, and Kevin and Kolten Buchanan. Roger was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Buchanan Jr.; and brother, Kevin Clyde Buchanan Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Brookport Funeral Home, with visitation for family to begin at 5:00.Online condolences may be left at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com.
