Roger Dale Anderson, age 77, went to be with his Lord on October 16, 2026. Born in Joppa, Illinois, he attended schools there through his junior year, graduating from Larkin High School, Elgin, Illinois in 1967. He honorably served stateside (Camp Pendleton, CA) in U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal during the Vietnam era (1968-1970), earning the rifle expert badge.
Roger was employed by Allied Chemical/Allied Signal/Honeywell, retiring as an operator in 2004 after 30 years of service. He was baptized at Joppa Missionary Baptist Church at age 39. He joined Lone Oak First Baptist Church in Paducah in 2005. He moved to Paducah in 2006 after his remarriage. He always enjoyed Bible studies and serving as greeter at LOFBC and, when in Florida, at Northside Baptist Church in North Ft. Myers. Roger said, “I love the early mornings and quiet times with the Lord, He blessed me in so many ways during my life on Earth.”
Roger enjoyed being outdoors, seeing God’s beauty everywhere he went. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. Additionally, he loved to bike, boat, walk, and thoroughly delighted in working in his gardens and yard in retirement.
