Rodney Williams, 71 of Golconda, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 11, 2023 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with military rites.

Rodney was an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War and a retired millwright for UWUA Local 640. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed everything from hunting and fishing to camping. Rodney enjoyed listening to and playing music, especially the guitar and harmonica. He liked to cook and was famous for his grilling, smoking and special homemade rub. Overall, Rodney was a family man who not only loved his kids and grandkids, but took in and mentored numerous children over the years, many who "adopted him" as dad or grandpa.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 49 years, Connie (Peters) Williams; children, Sarah Ellis and husband Shawn, Jesse Williams and wife Lucinda, and Vicki Harker; grandchildren, Dalton Ellis (Sierra), Maddison Evans (Jonathan), Kaitlynn Williams (Adam Powell), Lucas Ellis, Bailey White, Zeke Williams, Faris Williams, Tripp Williams, Corey White, Tommy Khodr, and Colton Timpe.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maudine Williams and brother, Cheyenne Littlejohn.

A visitation at the funeral home will be held from 11:00 am until the celebration of life at 12 noon on Friday, August 11th.
