Rodney Dale Faulkner, 84 of Temple Hill, IL passed away at Monday, May 23, 2016 at his home. Rodney was born April 21, 1932 to James and Era (Ragsdale) Faulkner in Pope County, IL. He married Joan Bell on April 7, 1951 (65 years) who survives. He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church of Paducah, KY. Rodney was a salesman for Metzger's Packing in Paducah, KY but his life long passion was farming. He was a livestock and grain farmer all of his life. Rodney never met a stranger, he always had a kind word for everyone he met. He loved his family dearly and would rather spend time with them than do anything else. Rodney is survived by a son Dale and wife Helen (Wemhoener) Faulkner of Temple Hill, IL; two daughters, A. Diane Simmons of Paducah, KY and Jena and husband Mike Hillebrand of Metropolis, IL. Eight grandchildren, Kim Enfinger and husband Brad, Jason Faulkner and wife Tiffany, Jessica Simmons Perez, Thomas Simmons and wife Kelly, Ryan Sullivan and friend Alicia Fryer, Lacey Glidden and friend Michael Schmidt, Dylan Hillebrand and friend Kaitlyn Lambdin, Dylan Glidden and friend Shelby Beggs. Five Great-grandchildren; Allison Enfinger, Owen Enfinger, Chelsea Simmons and friend Andrew McReynolds, Connor Simmons and Ava Simmons. Two Great, Great Grandchildren; Emily Faulkner and Addison Simmons. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Walter Faulkner, Barkley Faulkner and James Faulkner. Five sisters, Freda Bullock, Mary Hooker, Lucille Phelps, Lola Russell, Floy Hardin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, Illinois. Rev. Michael Hunt and Rev. Encil Edmonds will officiate. Burial will follow in the Temple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening May 24, 2016 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis, Illinois. Music will be provided by Rachel Hunt. Pallbearers will be Ryan Sullivan, Thomas Simmons, Jason Faulkner, Dylan Glidden, Andrew McReynolds, and Michael Schmidt. Honorary Pallbearer will be Brad Enfinger.
