Rocky Yates, age 67 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away Sunday morning April 16, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Todd Sumner officiating and Masonic rites.

Rocky was retired from the Massac County Highway Department and of Baptist faith. He was a member of the Bay City Masonic Lodge #771 and a Son of the American Legion.

Rocky is survived by his wife 48 1/2 years, Debbie (Reynolds) Yates; siblings, Donna Beavers, Louis Yates, Dale (Stacey) Yates, Peggy (Ted) Holder, and Sandy (Ron) Moats; sisters-in-law, Sandra Yates, Kathadale Harris (Bradley), and Donna Stratmeyer and companion Robert Buldtman; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Glenn and Juanita Lucille (Duncan) Yates; sisters, Faye Piland and Carol Diercks; brothers, Garold Yates and Roy Yates; sister-in-law, Bert Yates; brothers-in-law, Steve Cromeenes, Dennis Stratmeyer and Gary Beavers.

There will not be any visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the services.
