Robie Eleam Jr. age 91 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10:08 a.m. at the Massac Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the Shedville Cemetery with Pastor David Krueger officiating, with Military graveside rites following. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Anna, IL and served in the U.S. Navy for two years. He was a farmer, was always happy, and enjoyed talking to everyone. Robie married Lawanda (Childers) Eleam on Christmas Eve, 1958 and were blessed later with two wonderful children, Robert Eleam and Reda (Tony) Krueger, Three grandchildren, Kristi, Jason, and William. One great grandson, Phoenix and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robie and Freda (Vaughn) Eleam, Sr., one sister, Helen Taylor and one brother, Wayne Eleam. Memorials may be given to Shedville Cemetery c/o Tammy Millis 87 Shedville Road, Golconda, IL 62938 or Alzheimer's Assoc., 320 E. Walnut, Ste-A Carbondale, IL 62901 There will be not be any visitation, friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
