Mr. Robert Joe Wright, age 72, of Metropolis, IL, died Monday, August 21, 2017 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Reevesville Cemetery with military rites. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. Mr. Wright was an Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 306. Robert is survived by his son, Robert Wright II; two stepchildren, Angela Isoline and Jeff Rucker; seven grandchildren, Renee Newbold, Terra Smith, Daven Rucker, Rayette Rucker, Loren Wright, Robert Wright III, and Destiny Wright; five siblings, Glenda Arrison and husband Tom, Janie Wilkey and husband Dennis, Lois Schelssers, Thomas Wright and wife Mary, James Wright and wife Nancy; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Bertha (Nelson) Wright; two siblings, Roy Wright and Barbara Bacon. Arrangements have been entrusted to Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
