Robert Eugene "Bob" Borum, age 87 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 7:11 pm on Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Massac Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 14, 1937 in Unionville, Illinois the son of Orb Borum Jr. and Flora Belle (Holt) Borum. He married the love of his life, Marguerite Phelps on August 4, 1957.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with his granddaughter, Rev. Haley E. Hausman officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Bob was a mechanic in the United States Air Force, owned and operated his own business where he worked as an Electronics Technician. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a former member of the Lions Club.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marguerite Borum; daughter, Rhonda Hausman; son, Robin Borum; four grandchildren, Haley Hausman, Hilary Hausman, Tim Johnson and wife Brittany, and Emily Johnson and husband Brittan; four great grandchildren, Myles, Oliver, Natalie, and Skyler Johnson; two sisters, Glynda Kay Sarno and Janet Ann Hankins and husband John; brother, Jackie Wayne "Jack" Borum and wife Pat; nephews, Greg Borum and wife Nancy, Nathan Hankins, and Kyle Hankins; niece, Niki Hankins; special family members, Michael Hausman and Ron Carpenter;  and many friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Ray Borum; grandparents, Harley and Nellie Holt, Elebeta Bean, and Orb Borum Sr.; brother-in-law, Fred Sarno; sister-in-law, Gerri Borum; nephew, Jerry Wayne Borum.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
