Rick Dunevant, age 81 of Metropolis, Illinois formerly of Belleville, Illinois passed away at 3:30 am on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Riverview Mansion, 205 Metropolis Street, Metropolis, Illinois. Burial will be held at a later date in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Rick was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a friend to Bill Wilson for 37 years and was passionate about helping others on their journey to recovery. Rick is survived by his wife of 25 years, Cindy Dunevant of Metropolis, IL; daughters, Emily Holland and husband Jared of Metropolis, IL, Jacqueline Gunter and husband Dustin of Friendswood, TX, and Karen Silman of Belleville, IL; sons, Ricky Dunevant of Villa Hills, IL and Ron Dunevant of Belleville, IL; grandchildren, Sylas, Elliott, Easton, Makenna, Ashley, and April; brother, Jerry Dunevant of Dyersburg, TN Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Ruth Dunevant; son, Keith Dunevant; granddaughter, Angela Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
