Richard "Dick" Stewart, 84 of Metropolis, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Massac Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Ron Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery on Waldo Church Road.

Dick was retired from Honeywell and a member of 32nd Street Church of Christ. He was a life-long member of the Metropolis Country Club, an avid hunter and golfer, an Army veteran and a loving father and poppy who is going to be deeply missed.

Dick is survived by his son, Carl Stewart and wife Dacia; grandchildren, Gracie Stewart, Clara Stewart, Hailey Jacobs (Matt), and Kennedy Powers; great grandchildren, Harper, Sawyer and Palmer Jacobs; brother, Jim Stewart (Brenda); several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special friend of 40 years, Bonnie Lillie, who together they enjoyed traveling, dominoes and figuring out who was related to who.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl "Doc" and Juanita Stewart; daughter, Shelly Stewart.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, February 22, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday morning, February 23rd from 10 to 11 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Drew Walker, Galen Stegman, Greg Neely, Matt Jacobs, John Sommer, Mark Sandusky, Kevin Smith and Steve Foss.
