Mr. Richard J. Hoyt, Sr., age 79, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at his home. He was born July 20, 1941 to James W. and Charlotte (Krouse) Hoyt.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Johnson County, IL, with Rev. Justin Wolfe officiating and military rites.

Mr. Hoyt retired from the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate.

Richard is survived by his children, Richard J. (Rachel Rodgers) Hoyt, Jr. and Sabrina Hoyt; grandchildren, Kobe James, Masson Rodgers, JoSee Rodgers, and Izabela Hoyt; sister, Shirley Wallen; half-brother, Earnest Klotz; two half-sisters, Charlotte Knolton and Virginia Baber; ex-wife, Bonnie Kerry Jr.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Hoyt; two half-siblings, Bernice Wojicki and Robert Klotz.
