Mr. Reuben L. Oliver, age 82 of Metropolis, Illinois passed away at 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Private family services will be held. There will not be any visitation.Reuben retired from the United States Navy with 21 years of service. He served in Korea and Vietnam, was a life time member of VFW and DAV.Reuben is survived by a daughter, Carol L. Werth and husband Jim of Littleton, CO; a granddaughter, Julie Chapman and husband Keith of MO; 2 great grandsons; 2 sisters, Marie Comer of Metropolis, IL and Jimmy Nell Gerring and husband Tom of MI; several nieces and nephews.Reuben was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Nonna Bell (Corzine) Oliver; wife, Phyllis A.
