Mr. Raymond G. Vaughn, age 74, of Metropolis, IL, passed away at 10:22 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Baptist Health Paducah.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home of Metropolis. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Joppa, IL with military rites.Ray was a member of the Metropolis First Church of God. He was also an Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 306 and a Commander of the Amvets Post 132.Ray is survived by his son, Bill Vaughn of Metropolis; daughter, Debra Barnes of Metropolis; 2 grandchildren, Raymond D. Vaughn and Kayla Vaughn both of Metropolis; 2 brothers, Robert Vaughn and Terry Vaughn both of Metropolis; 1 sister, Doris Henson of Geoff, IL.He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy (Borum) Vaughn; his wife Bonnie Vaughn; grandson, Kevin Jones; and granddaughter, Kristina Jones.Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to The Adjutant Illinois Veterans Home-Anna 792 N.
