Ray Harrell, 71 of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Ray was retired after 20+ years from Honeywell and a member of First Baptist Church Metropolis. He loved his Harley and his dogs and cats, and enjoyed bass fishing, deer hunting and collecting guns.

Ray is survived by his son, Nathan Harrell and wife Courtney; loving companion of almost 12 years, Carol Dukes; three granddaughters, Ella, Amelia and Olivia Harrell; two cousins, Sharon LaGore and Karen Lovins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Lovins; mother and stepfather, Susan (Brown) and Bill Harrell; one cousin, Virginia (Brown) Sayles; and his beloved brown lab, Harley.
