Obituary

Norma Ruth Baker of rural Marion, Illinois passed away on February 3, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.

Norma was born on June 27, 1942 to Harold and Ruth (Russell) Inboden. Norma married Ronald Baker on October 31, 1960 and they had three children, Deon (Angela) Baker, Darrell (Crystal) Baker, and Dawn (Robby) Mapps-Owens.

Norma's life centered around God and her family. She loved church and loved taking care of others, this included her family, friends, and anyone else that would allow it. She attended Stonefort General Baptist Church.

She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. She also loved camping and considered her camping buddies as part of her family.

Norma was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, as well as her granddaughter, Christina Whitehead.

Norma is survived by her husband and her three children; five grandchildren, Ashley (Tim) Weber, Kyle (Brittany) Baker, Dustin (Erica) Mapps, Keshia (Nick) Smith, and Dylan (Taylor) Mapps; 11 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by her three sisters, Barbara (Leroy) Abney, Brenda (George) Miller, and Nancy (Kenny) McDonald; her faithful canine companion, Toby; her foreign exchange student, who was like a son, Golf Sanguanshua.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Stonefort General Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Owens and Rev. Matt Troxel officiating. Burial will follow in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 11 am to 1 pm at Stonefort General Baptist Church, 30 Roosevelt Street, Stonefort, Illinois.

Memorials may be made in Norma's name to Residential Hospice, 104 Airway Drive, Suite 1, Marion, Illinois 62959.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Mapps, Dylan Mapps, Kyle Baker, Tim Weber, Nick Smith, and Kyle Johnson.
