Nila Ruth Kotter, 88, of Metropolis, IL, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis, IL. She was born on May 7, 1928, the daughter of Estes and Emily Wood. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating. Nila is survived by her three sons, Rick Kotter and wife Mary, Rodney Kotter, and Calvin Kotter and companion Peggy Anderson; seven grandchildren, Brian Kotter and wife Nina, Kristen, Julie, Brandon, Dustin, Melissa, and Nolan Kotter; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Edith Collie and husband James. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 55 years, Karl K. Kotter; three brothers and six sisters.
