Nell Owens, age 93 of Metropolis, Illinois went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:50 pm on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Bro. Gary Cruse and Pastor David Deem will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Nell was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked at the Good Luck Glove Factory, baby sit for many years, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she taught children's Sunday School. Nell is survived by her daughter, Nancy Steel and husband Ralph of Mayfield, KY; granddaughter, Clarissa Fox and husband Adrian of Metropolis, IL; great grandson, Micah Fox of Metropolis, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Edward and Mae Manila (Linson) Harrison; husband, Frank Owens; sister, Opal Grace; brothers, Odell Harrison, Frank Harrison, and Russell Harrison. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 9 am to 11 am at the Miller Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. Music will be provided by her granddaughter, Clarissa Fox. Pallbearers will be Ralph Steel, John Steel, Adrian Fox, Josh Fox, Robert Schneider, and Joe Konemann.
