Nancy Gilbert, 75 of Metropolis, IL, formerly of Elkhart, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Per her wishes, no services will be held.

Nancy was a retired seamstress for Godfrey Marine in Elkhart, IN, attended Living Waters Full Gospel Church in Joppa, IL, and loved her kids and grandkids.

Nancy is survived by her children, Donald Gilbert, Charles Gilbert, Jr. (Audrey), April Trosper, Denise Gilbert, and Karen Sharp (Bernie Beggs); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, David Williams, Allan Williams, Kenny Williams, and Janis Williams; many nieces and nephews; best friend, Angie Austin; and dog, Gizmo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Vera O'Connor; husband, Charles Gilbert; brother, Aaron Williams; and beloved dog, Homer.
