Myra Loraine (Faughn) Buchanan, age 82 of Moweaqua, Illinois formerly of Brookport, Illinois was welcomed home to Jesus' loving arms at 6:50 pm on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at St. Mary's Hospital Decatur, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Coram officiating. Burial will follow in Pell Cemetery.

Myra was born in Brookport, Illinois on November 1, 1935 the daughter of Hal and Flora Belle (Douglas) Faughn. She married her dear husband, Clyde Buchanan Jr. on June 16, 1954 in Brookport, Illinois and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2010.

Myra is survived by daughter, Teresa Kaufman of rural Decatur, IL; sons, Brian Buchanan and wife Jan of Bethany, IL and Eric Buchanan of  Moweaqua, IL; grandchildren, Myra and Jesse Kaufman, and Kevin and Kolten Buchanan; brothers, J.T. Faughn of Brookport, IL, Michael Faughn and wife Patti of Metropolis, IL, Jeffery Faughn of St. Louis, MO; brothers-in-law Bennie Buchanan, Larry and Kay Buchanan, Sherrill Hogan, Jerry Higgins, Barney Clauson, Woodrow Gillette, sister-in-law, Jackie Will;  former son-in-law, Dan Kaufman, and several nieces and nephews.

Myra was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Clyde and Lucille; husband of 55 years; sons, Kevin Clyde Buchanan and Roger Dale Buchanan; sisters, Lauressa Clauson, Mary Hogan, Cheryl Gillette, Madelyn Higgins, Gloria Fenolio, and Sandra Belle Clauson; brother, Paul Faughn; sisters-in-law Vera Coram, Barbara Edwards, Donna Sue Buchanan, and brother-in-law, James Edwards.

Myra loved the Lord and singing Jesus' praises. She had the brightest smile and was always quick to laugh. She shared her sweetness and love with others through her angel food cakes and made countless lives richer by simply knowing her.  Myra enjoyed singing, laughing, cooking, reading, going to church, spending time with her family, and eating fresh tomatoes out of her garden.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, May 8, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in Myra's name to the Alzheimer's Association or to St. Mary's Hospital Adult Day Services in Decatur, IL. A special thank you to Barb McNutt and Julie Henderson who took such great care of our mama and granny at this wonderful facility.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Kaufman, Brandon Buchanan, Flint Higgins, Brent Hodge, Lyndell Gillette, and Kevin Buchanan. Honorary Pallbearer Duston Buchanan.
