Mr. Michael D. Scherer, age 61, of Metropolis, died Monday, October 2, 2017, at his home. Private services will be held at a later date. Michael is survived by two sons, Mark Scherer and wife Colleen and Michael Scherer and companion Amy Stevens all of Louisiana; two sisters, Mary Vincent of Wappapello, MO and Robin Branch of Bloomington, IN; four grandchildren, Michael Scherer III, Allison Scherer, Kyle Scherer, and Kendall Scherer; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Opal Scherer; one brother, August John Scherer II. Arrangements were entrusted to Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
